For years, major music festivals have been important in both the fashion and music industries. For musicians, festivals such as Coachella, SXSW, Edgefest, and Lollapalooza have been a way to promote new songs and genres of music as well as build fan bases. They are also a way for lesser known artists and bands to become well-known. However, music festivals have recently become more popular because they are a way to spot upcoming trends in street fashion. People from all over come out to these festivals to display everything from their indie flower power to their edgy grunge styles. In fact, some of these festivals have created such a hype that some stores even sell entire collections for festival season. Just recently, the european based fashion company, H&M, launched a collaboration line with Coachella and the items in the collection are unbelievably amazing. They have everything from feminine florals to neon prints to edgy fringe pieces. However, you can find festival inspiration and styles anywhere. Here are a few of my faves from the current season and seasons past.
